Reconstitution Protocol for Research Use

The following is general laboratory guidance for reconstituting lyophilized research peptides with bacteriostatic water. For research use only — not for human consumption.

  1. 01Allow the lyophilized vial and bacteriostatic water (BAC) to equilibrate to room temperature in the laboratory.
  2. 02Sanitize the rubber stoppers of both vials with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry.
  3. 03Using a sterile syringe, draw the desired volume of bacteriostatic water (typically 1–3 ml).
  4. 04Insert the needle into the peptide vial at an angle and slowly inject the BAC down the inside wall — do not jet directly onto the lyophilized powder.
  5. 05Gently swirl the vial to dissolve. Do not shake. Allow the powder to fully clear into solution.
  6. 06Label the reconstituted vial with compound, concentration, lot number, date of reconstitution, and researcher initials.
  7. 07Store reconstituted vials refrigerated at 2–8°C, protected from light. Discard per the researcher's validated stability protocol.
